Born more than 50 years ago, Manusa is a successful privately-owned Spanish company that has grown to become a leading company in creating, designing and developing all types of intelligent accesses. We have several national offices and we also have an international presence with branches in Portugal, Brasil and China. Our main objective is to provide equipment and solutions in the Intelligent Access space thanks to our own technology developed in-house.

What we do in R+D+i 

Within the R+D+i Department, the main tasks of the SW team are:

• Proof of concept for new services and other applications, possibly AI-based

• Develop the networking/cloud application SW for integration and Cloud services with external partners
• Develop the embedded communications SW for IoT connectivity
• Develop the embedded control SW for PWRE as well as motor and system control boards

What the role is

In this role you will:

• Be a key role in the Embedded Software (IoT) and SW Team
• Actively participate in product development activities with your technical expertise
• Support innovation projects in-house and with external partners
• Lead the backend software development of the new order platform
• Lead the technical hands-on design with focus on SW applications for advanced development and proof-of-concept prototypes
• Lead and contribute to the software design, development, testing, releasing, and documentation within the Azure Environment or other IoT cloud platform
• Collaborate with the product owner, software architects, security experts, Front End Developer & Test Engineers to generate functional software via agile methodology

The successful candidate must have

• Experience in software development based on work experiences
• Bachelor/Master or “Técnico Superior” in Computer Science, Telecommunications or similar
• Experience in writing code and reviewing the code of others
• A cloud/IoT native mindset with a background in designing and developing cloud-based web applications using cloud providers, especially Microsoft Azure
• Experience in backend technologies (e.g. C#/ASP.NET Core) and SQL databases
• Knowledge of MQTT and HTTP/REST networking protocols
• Basic understanding of website design - HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Experience in working with agile methodologies
• Significant hands-on experience doing projects solo or as part of small teams
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts & solutions

We will also value

• Knowledge of microservices architecture and event driven design
• Knowledge of End-to-end security for IoT security spanning across edge layer security, application, transport, network, cloud and infrastructure security controls, data privacy and protection controls.
• Knowledge of DevOps like CI/CD, automated testing, configuration of logging and monitoring systems, infrastructure management etc.
• Ability to determine software development practices and methodologies to create and maintain a high-quality software
• Ability to develop mobile applications
• Knowledge in app development platform (Firebase) in general, and app launching and monitoring tools (Crashlytics) in particular.
• Knowledge of app distribution (Google Play, App Store)
